Animals in the world of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning include:
Aside from their value as sources of sustenance and nutrition to the general population of Amalur, their purpose in the game is mostly aesthetic.
Components[]
All animals except for chickens and owls are a source of various components which scale with character level, and correspond to regular components in their effects. A list of components which can be harvested from animals is show below.

Which component tier drops changes depending on the Fateless One's level. The highest level components start to appear at level 20.
Trivia[]
- Wolves and bears are proper enemies, but can sometimes drop animal parts when killed.
- A count is kept of the player's total number of chickens slain. This has no in-game effect.
- This does not seem to occur for Owls, since there's only a few in game.
