Banshaen

Banshaen

For special types of Banshaen, please visit their individual pages below:

Banshaen are large monsters who spawn Murghan underlings and are immune to stealth kills. They are easily identifiable by their angler fish-like head and snake-like body. When approaching them they will usually be coiled up sleeping. They will be found mainly in areas close to bodies of water.

The Banshaen use lightning magic/physical attacks and periodically shoot off pods that spawn Murghan creatures. They will mainly attack with quick bolts of energy from their forehead and if close enough it will attack using its tail, like a scorpion. When at a large distance and not in the mood for lightning, they will charge mouth-first at the player, very quickly and accurately with slight homing capability... avoiding this attack may require multiple dodges.

All forms of Banshaen resist lightning, as well as physical and piercing damage. They're weak to bleeding.

Notes[]

Banshaen are probably inspired by Banshee of Irish mythology. Banshee are female spirits, often seen as omens of death.

Banshaen are able to cast a semi-minor form of the Sorcery skill "Tempest" when working together with her spawned Murghan. Banshaen are usually unable to cast "Tempest" without at least 1 Murgan spawned in close proximity.
