Description[]

Beast Training is a new service made available to players who have purchased The Legend of Dead Kel.

This allows players access to the only known beast trainer in Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, Cillian Keen, who resides in the Courtyard of the Gravehal Keep. The beast trainer allows the Fateless One to keep trained beasts in the keep in order to receive passive bonuses. There is a maximum of 3 pets at a time and no more than one of each beast kind.

Unlocking Beast Training[]

Unlocking Beast Training is done by successfully completing the first upgrade to Gravehal Keep in Gallows End.

Pets and Their Bonuses[]

Cillian Keen divides the beasts he can train into two categories: Small Beasts and Large Beasts. It is unclear whether or not this is done purely for the sake of organization or if this is somehow relevant to the bonuses provided by the kind of beast. Large Beasts may provide higher quality bonuses than that of Small Beasts but this is unclear because, unlike the bonuses granted by Twist of Fate cards or Destinies, the exact details of these bonuses are unobservable in-game. Meat can be found in some of the crates located at Scuttle Beach.

Notes[]

  • In order to unlock the Root Golem pet, the Fateless One must finish the Gravehal Tower upgrade for Gravehal Keep.
  • The Root Golem may only be possible to acquire after completing The Exiles (Gravehal Keep fully upgraded).
  • Bracketed data are mined and briefly tested on Re-reckoning.
        • Rank 2 and 3 specify that it is crit chance vs. Fae, rank 1 does not.

Bugs[]

  • If you are playing the re-release, this bug appears to have been fixed. The pet limit of 3 can be easily bypassed, allowing the Fateless One to have a maximum number of 8 pets (one of each kind). To do this, when the limit of 3 is reached and Cillian mentions the need to release one pet the Fateless One should choose the 'Raise pets?' dialogue option, and once Cillian stops talking, the option to normally add a pet will be available. After this, it can get stuck at finding food that you already have and you can never continue collecting pets. If you go sell the food required, exiting the dialogue screen and buying back the food should fix this.
