Description[]

”What are you doing back already? I ordered every Oathblade to search for corpses along the ridge. We’ve been finding pieces as far as the plateau. Do you want to be stripped of your stipend and sent packing? If not, you’d better quit with the shirking and rejoin your troop”

Details[]

Drystan Rydder is a male Dokkalfar that is a member of the Warsworn holding the rank of Amaldor. He also serves as the Warden of the resettlement camp Revival. The Fateless One first encounters him during the Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning Fatesworn quest: The New God. During their first encounter Drystan mistakes the Fateless One as an Oathblade under his command and orders them back out on patrol to search for settler corpses. Eventually he realizes his mistake and apologizes, explaining that the Mitharans have closed the gate to prevent the newly-arrived settlers from entering Mithros and the increasing Niskaru attacks have strained his forces to their limit. Determined to put an end to the attacks, Drystan decides to mount an expedition to the nearby Freehold and invites the Fateless One to accompany him.

Location[]

Drystan Rydder can always be found at the Warsworn tent in Revival.

Quotes[]

First the Mitharans lock us out, and now the camp’s being targeted by random attacks. Looks like Niskaru frenzies, if you can believe that. And I thought we left all the trouble back east.

Drystan Rydder, state of affairs in Revival

It started as a single tent, and now it’s a city unto itself. They call it Revival because the people here are hoping for a new start. Most are settlers, hoping to find a new life beyond the gates. Others are veterans of the war. Broken souls looking for a bit of peace.

Drystan Rydder, story of Revival

My teachers always said they were a myth, ancestors of the Almain. But they’re no myth. They life right here in these mountains, tucked away like a cat in a drawer. They don’t take too kindly to outsiders. Closed the gates to their city as soon as they saw us coming.

Drystan Rydder, thoughts about the Mitharans

Some fool in the city thinks he’s Telogrus, and he’s been working his folowers into a froth. Telogrus, the Chaos King? God of Unreast? Lord of Entropy? Please…

Drystan Rydder, thoughts about Telogrus

Who, that nut-bat calling himself Telogrus? Oh, sure. He soars past on his fancy lizard every few days, checks things out. He and his little cult spend most to their time behind the city walls, plotting.
