The name Eli has been associated with the renown of such named people's deeds across history, especially with politicians and other agents of change. Perhaps it is befitting the man who enacts drastic change in the land of Kandrian by the assassination of a leader.
After The Lord Kandrian is finished, Eli appears to be stuck at the door to The Raven, remaining in town instead of leaving for wherever he is truly from.
