Deirdre Gwint has told me of some ancient texts that she's discovered since arriving on Gallows End. She has offered to translate any others that I find. As I discover the ancient texts, I should bring them back to Deirdre in the Keep Library for translation.
Details[]
This is more a task than a quest. Ancient texts can be found in several locations on Gallows End. Deirdre will translate them for the Fateless One. Each book takes one day to translate. There are a total of 12 books.
Some of the book locations are listed below:
- Ancient Dvergan Text:
- Warded chest in the Tidal Pools, right after the first jump spot
- Chest in the last room of Souldeep Fasting
- Treasure pile halfway in Akara-Tor, accessible only during An Offering
- Chest south-east of Mudhold Fasting, near two boggarts
- Skeleton in eastern part of Siren's Den
- Ancient Varani Text:
- Pile near the entrance to Tidal Pools
- Pile near the entrance to Brigand's Hideaway
- Ancient Alfar Text:
- Pile under Quay's home in The Dark Harbor area
- Pile outside Souldeep Fasting, by the bridge
- Ancient Almain Text:
- Chest in the Brigand's Hideaway
- Pile in Scuttle Beach north of the Banshaen Priestess
- Ancient Gnomish Text:
- Westernmost chest in The North Coast area, where The Scion can be found for the quest Justice Done.
Translated Texts[]
Walkthrough[]
- Once the Fateless One retrieves a book it should be given to Deirdre for translation.
- The quest log will update when she's finished.
- After translating the 12th book the quest ends.
Bugs[]
- Since Akara-Tor can be visited only one time during An Offering, if you miss the Ancient Dvergan Text there the quest cannot be completed.
- The translated books are considered quest items even after completing the quest and cannot be removed from inventory.
- You can end up with a 2nd copy of The Bashful Peregrine instead of The Seasteel Golems and the quest ends.
