”Lyenna Crosse believes her new acquaintance, Ivan Hugues, may know the origin of her strange, glowing necklace. I should speak to him.”

Description[]

Mysterious Monoliths is the second of the Unbound faction quests in the Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning Fatesworn DLC expansion pack. It becomes available to the Fateless One by speaking to Lyenna Crosse in Gale Crossing village after completing the previous faction quest: A Preordained Encounter.

Walkthrough[]

Speak to Ivan Hugues[]

Proceed to the Gemstone Tavern in Gale Crossing and climb the stairs to the second floor and speak to Ivan Hugues. After explaining his theory about the connection between Lyenna’s Necklace and the Mithroliths scattered across Mithros, the Gnome decides to mount an expedition to the ancient Mitharan ruins and asks the Fateless One to accompany him as his bodyguard.

Meet Ivan at the Mithrolith in Camp Revival[]

”Ivan Hugues theorizes that Lyenna’s necklace is somehow related to Mithros’ mysterious monoliths. He wants me to meet him near the monolith in Camp Revival for a demonstration.”

Travel to Revival and head southwest from the camp to a winding cliffside path that will lead directly to the first of the Mithroliths. As the Fateless One draws close to the ancient ruin it will react to Lyenna’s necklace, causing runic inscriptions to appear. Ivan Hugues will translate these runes and reveal the first part of “The Unbound Path.”

Visit Five More Mithroliths[]

”Whenever I approach a monolith with Lyenna’s necklace, it starts glowing and Ivan is able to decipher its runes on them. We must visit five more of the Mithroliths to decipher all the runes.”

Windmill Island Mithrolith[]

Travel to Crownhold City and use the skiff on the western dock past the city gate to reach Windmill Island. The Mithrolith will react to Lyenna’s necklace and reveal another runic inscription for Ivan to translate.

Crownhold Mithrolith[]

Travel west from Crownhold City and cross the three bridges spanning the southeastern rivers to reach the Mithrolith. As before, it will react to Lyenna’s necklace and reveal another runic inscription for Ivan to translate.

Madding Wind Mithrolith[]

Continue west towards the base of Crow Peak and turn south to reach the Madding Wind region of Mithros. From there follow the cliffs south and turn west when the path forks to reach the Mithrolith. The nearby Mountain Troll may attack Ivan Hugues while he’s waiting for the Fateless One. If this happens attack the monstrous Fae to get its attention, then lead it a safe distance away from Ivan where it can be killed without risking further harm to the gnome. Once the area is secure approach the Mithrolith until it reacts with Lyeanna’s necklace and reveals its runic inscription for Ivan to translate.

Three Winds Crutch Western Mithrolith[]

The next Mithrolith can be found in the western region of Three Winds Crutch close to where the Night Barghest appeared during the Night Barghest side quest. When the Fateless One is close enough the Mithrolith will react to Lyeanna’s Necklace and reveal another runic inscription for Ivan to translate.

Three Winds Crutch Crossroads Mithrolith[]

The final and largest of the Mithroliths can be found at the crossroads of Three Winds Crutch a short distance east from the previous Mithrolith. Once the Fateless One is close enough the Mithrolith will react to Lyenna’s Necklace and reveal the last of the runic inscriptions for Ivan to translate.

Return to Lyenna[]

”One phrase appeared multiple times on the Mithrolith runes: “Unbound path.” Maybe Lyenna will know what this means.”

Return to Gale Crossing and speak to Lyenna Crosse to return her necklace, complete the quest, and collect the Fateless One’s reward.
