Hello again all!
So we have some more exciting news regarding the Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning franchise.
A new remaster has been announced and scheduled for release on September 8, 2020. The game will come with "Improved graphical fidelity including Native 4K support" as well as all DLC from the original release.

Here at the Amalur Wiki we have exciting news!
On September 6th, 2018 THQ Nordic announced it had acquired Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning in addition to its related intellectual property, including the cancelled MMO Copernicus project.
That's all the news for now but we will update everyone as soon as there are new developments!

It's been a little while since I first made a News post here regarding updates being made to the Amalur Wiki:Editing guideline. If anyone is interested in what was discussed you can follow the link to the original post here.
Now onto the purpose of this post. There are still lots of things to be done here on the wiki with many pages still needing to be created and a lot of our current pages still need more information. This is a large undertaking and has/will take a lot of time to accomplish. Most of the current work I am doing is working behind the scenes of the Wiki to make sure things run smoothly. I do however understand that this is not what most people will want to see or use this wiki for.
I now would like to ask our editors and visitors this:

Hi everyone, I'm a new regular contributor to the Amalur Wiki, and this is my first News blog post.
While wandering around in Amalur, fighting off the Tuatha and Niskaru, and completing quests (often a thankless task), it occurred to me that the Fateless One really needs to unwind and relax once in a while! So what is there to do in Amalur besides bloodshed and mayhem? Picking alchemical reagents can be a nice passive pastime, even if it often means risking your neck.style.]]What would your Fateless One do in Amalur to let off some steam? I've just created a new sub-category of User Images called Extracurricular Activities. It was inspired by a chance opportunity during the Siege of Moondown in Alabastra, when a Bolgan fell under a meteor strike and lost its shield into the nearby river. I could just imagine my Fateless One running up and jumping onto the oversized shield, using it as a skimboard.

With it being well into the day now, on the behalf of all the Amalur Wiki Community, I wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.
I live in a part of the world where we're lucky to ever see snow each year but with all the Christmas lights, people singing, Santa's Grotto and the smell of food everywhere I guess you could hardly tell we missed it ;)

Hello again everyone! It's been a few months now since I last posted a Blog about the prospect of having a Bot here at the Amalur Wiki to help out with tidying, organising and generally helping out the community.
After a consensus was reached on the topic and with no votes against the idea, we are now able to welcome WizBot to the Amalur community! WizBot was given the OK to start working on November 23 and has already been working away at some category sorting and infobox fixing.
If you have anything suggestions for jobs that WizBot can tackle then please leave a message on its Message Wall.

Hi all! I'm here again to make another annoucement about the possibilty of using a Bot here at the Wiki. If I'm able to get one I will first need the opinions of other users on the Wiki whether they will accept it.
So here it is! If you are happy to have a helpful little bot tidying things up around here then let me know in the comments below. If you disagree with having the bot and would rather go against bringing one in then please also let me know!

I am happy to inform you that my application for adopting this Wiki has been sucessful and I have now been granted Admin and Bureaucrat rights! I would like to thank all of those who gave their input to the nomination.
So where are we going to go from here? Well now I have these new rights I hope to sort some of the most pressing matters first then moving on to continue improving it to make this the ultimate place for everything in the world of Amalur. I will definitely keep you (the community) up to date on all the latest developments and proposed changes to the Wiki in the News page and deliver all the latest information on the possible revival of the Amalur IP.

Hello the Amalur Wiki community! I'm WikiaWizard and I'm an editor here as you may have noticed from my recent edits. I have had prior experience editing on Wikia at the Fable Wiki. At the moment a vast majority of my edits will be revamping some of the older pages here on the wiki and streamlining articles so that there's a general order to how they look and are set out. Now this leads onto the main point of this News post - updating the Amalur Wiki:Editing guideline.
At the moment the guidelines seem to have done a pretty good job of maintaining the same standard across most the pages. However, as some may also have noticed, there are a number of articles which cause "exceptions" to the guide. Now, I'm not saying that every article has to follow what it outlines word for word (hence the fact that they are called "guidelines" and not "rules"!) as this would be unconventional and really hard to follow. Well, it's been awhile folks. Been busy going to job interviews in and out of my state, as well as dealing with family, friends, and re-playing/trying out games I've been meaning to get back to. Still had some spare time to come back and double check to make sure no one's vandalizing the wikia, but not much time to actually edit, or post new information.
Well, today, I had some time on my hands and decided to go check out if there was any new news items about 38 Studios, whether Rhode Island has set a date to sell/who's interested in buying KoA, and anything more I can find out about Project Copernicus. Well, I've found out something interesting about the last item.

The title says it all, the unifished trailer to Project Copernicus released by a former 38 Studio's employee, wanting to show all the effort that his/her team had been putting into the Amalur MMO before the massive layoffs and 38 Studios declaring bankruptcy. It is being hosted at the moment by Kotaku.
As I said in my previous blog, depending upon who buys the Amalur IP, there may be a chance of the continuation of the game series. But that is a very slim chance, so don't put too much hope into it.
Wikia is headed to Comic-Con! That’s right. We’re pulling up our Internet stakes and traveling circus-style to Southern California where we have a number of fun events planned (meet-ups, parties, interview opportunities, etc.) for the duration of the convention.

On June 7th, 38 Studio's founder/owner, Curt Schillings, filed for a Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Chapter 7 is used by Companies/People in the US who are deep in debt and they file it (or forced to file by creditors) in a Federal Court. The court appoints a Chapter 7 Trustee who has vast powers and he/she is in charge of liquidating the company. This doesn't mean that all employees will be laid off, in the past, entire divisions have been sold off to another companies with all the employees with jobs.
This means had Curt Schillings not laid off every employee working for him, there was a possibility that they wouldn't have been laid off. What does this mean for 38 Studio's/Big Huge Games? It means that anyone with money, can buy up the studio's and open them under the same name, should the Chapter 7 Trustee choose to sell the studio's. This also includes all IP's owned under 38 Studio's.

I found these articles this morning after I woke up, and after reading, I wanted everyone to hear about this information. As we all know, 38 Studio's borrowed $75 million bond (plus interest) from the state of Rhode Island. Repaying the state back in full by 2020. According to information from Rhode Island's Channel 12 WPRI, Rhode Island taxpayers would be stuck paying $112.6 million. From information that the channel has dug up, $23.4 million of the $75 million was set aside as a reserve to pay back the bonds. So not all of said $75 million was spent and tied up into Studio 38 games. Also, it should be noted that none of the money borrowed from Rhode Island was, according to former Big Huge Games employee's, spent on the creation of Kingdoms of Amalur, Reckoning. It was only used on 38 Studio's MMORPG, Project Copernicus.

38 Studio's Big Huge Games was in the process of creating Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning 2, in the early stages of pre-production.
According to former members of BHG, elements that were tested before the close of the studio was higher graphics quality on everything, no loading between zones, expanded and improved combat animations, more quests that branched out and the player's decisions held greater effects on the world.
It sounds like the next game, would have been bigger and better then it's predecessor. But for the moment, 38 Studio's still owns KoA IP, and with no staff, all work is frozen unless 38 Studio's manages to acquire private funding that will help cover staff and loan payments.
38 Studios and Big Huge Games, the developers of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, have closed their doors, laying off all employees. 38 Studios itself had been subsisting on $75 million in development aid loans from the state of Rhode Island, and was late in paying back the first installment. According to Rhode Island's governor, the game would have to sell an additional 3 million copies simply to break even.
Reckoning's lead designer has stated that the next planned patch for the game will never be released.
With all this news, it seems almost certain that development on Reckoning is done for good, and its companion MMORPG, "Project Copernicus", may never see the light of day. Fantasy writer RA Salvatore, who came up with much of the back story for both Amalur games, states that Copernicus was far along in its development, but doubts it will ever be published.

Breaking news to all KoA fans! Just announced today is the newest DLC pack for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, entitled Teeth of Naros. The expansion will feature the forgotten land known as the Teeth of Naros, named after an ancient troll god. Players will also run into the Kollossae, a devout race of giants.
Also included in the DLC is the new city of Idylla, that floats above the Teeth of Naros. The city will feature more than 20 side quests and a new race. There will also be five new massive dungeons in addition to three new Twists of Fate, nine new armor sets, six new shields and 18 new unique weapons.
The Teeth of Naros will be released on April 17th. It will be available on Xbox Live for 800 points or on PlayStation Network, Origin and Steam for $9.99.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning presents a world that is immaculately crafted and beautiful, yet still simple and accessible. Every corner reveals a person in need, a treasure to collect, a secret to uncover, a battle to wage. I don't know how much more time I'll spend in Amalur (dozens of hours? hundreds?), but I plan on savoring every minute.

The new DLC, "The Legend of Dead Kel" will take players to Gallows End, a mysterious island that holds a brand new quest line, multiple side quests, a type of dungeon called "Dverga Fastings," three Twists of Fate, and a handful of previously unseen armor and weapons. Players will also have access to Gravehal Keep, an estate housing a number of backstory-laden characters just itching to unload their troubles on unsuspecting adventurers. The content is also platform-agnostic, and will be available for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC via either Steam or Origin.
