Niskaru Tyrant

Niskaru Tyrants are seen across the Warsworn storyline and seen in the main storyline.

Niskaru Tyrants are the second strongest Niskaru class, with the strongest being a Niskaru Lord, they are much stronger than the lower-class Niskaru with their ability to muster fire and spells.

Niskaru Tyrants are much taller than lower-class Niskaru and seem to lack certain features that lower-class Niskaru have.

Most Niskaru Tyrants are resistant to fire-based attacks and vulnerable to ice-based attacks. (The game however does present exceptions ot the rule; a few Tyrants wield elemental ice and are therefore weak to fire.) The Niskaru Horrinox is a a decently more advanced form of the beast, inverses the elemental model defense of the typical Tyrant, and presents sometimes unpredictable defenses and resistances. (E.g., the Horrinox in the Valor challenges throws fire and is indeed immune to fire and weak to ice, despite being a Horrinox.) There is honestly appreciable complexity in the racial sub-types and larger race as a whole in terms of elemental resistances.

Attacks[]

  • Fireball spit, used only if target is out of melee reach; the Tyrant will spit two fireballs with weak seeking, at a slow pace; knockback reaction is suffered.
  • Fire breath, used only if target is out of melee reach; will deal constant fire damage. The Fatelesss One is staggered.
  • Assault, used only if target is out of melee reach; the Tyrant will charge and attack and then rush at its target at high speed, headbutting the victim if it connects.
  • Tail swipe, causes strong knockback. Slow build-up but quick attack. Can be parried with good timing.
  • Arm stretch, the Tyrant will slam one of its arms twice to crush his enemy. The second strike has longer range.
  • Fire Outburst or "Armageddon", used only if the target is in melee range; the Tyrant will concentrate power and then cause an explosion with large radius surrounding him. The key to avoiding this attack is observing the attack cue preceding the explosion (bright aura developing), and to run two steps away form the tyrant or Horrinox, then outwardly evade out of proximity intelligently. This huge area-of-effect attack does 100% Fire Damage/Burning DoT for several seconds and unless playing on lesser difficulties, this particular attack poses an authentic existential threat.

Strategy[]

Niskaru Tyrants are very dangerous enemies especially if encountered early in the game, if you chose to pursue the Warsworn questline as soon as possible, far outclassing smaller Niskaru in terms of damage and health. A level 2 or 3 Fateless One might simply not have enough attained Health and Mana to even survive any potential encounter.

Fighting a Niskaru Tyrant from afar will require attention as he is as dangerous with his ranged attack as he is within melee range. (Highly-levelled Finesse or Blademaster-tending fighters with Scattershot can kill these creatures easily, however.) The central thing at all times, is paying close attention to the monster's second-to-second combat behavior, attack sequence cues; when he charges, or signifies building up to a AoE fiery explosion attack, etc. be ready to dodge and evasively skirmish at all times.

Sagacious handling of these monsters will require practice and observant perception of the specific assault cues and the stripping away of the Super Armor of the foe.

For Sorcery characters Ice Barrage excels in damage also being able to make the Tyrant flinch quick. There is also the tactical option, when the tyrant is about to breathe fire, to "blink" through the monster's body and quickly unleash spells from behind.

Might and Finesse characters should (usually) use Ice-enchanted weapons to lessen the difficulty of the battle. Dodging after 2-3 attacks is crucial to avoid getting hit, be particularly mindful of the Fire Outburst attack as it can deal a large amount of damage also inflicting the Burning ailment. Stocking up on Mana-heavy potions is advised in preparation. Dagger chain attacks and Shadow Flare, used in the right time, are ideal for Finesse fighters; Relentless Assault and Battle Frenzy aid the Might Warrior as the necessary, careful evasive motions and shield blocks are learned in a situation where the melee-centric Warrior finds direct frontal engagement challenging.
