Primal damage is based on the ancient Primal magic. While Primal damage bonuses are typically not as high as the other elemental damage bonuses, their ability to lower a target's elemental resistance can be quite devastating. Any target suffering from the effects of Primal damage is significantly more susceptible to Fire, Ice, and Lightning damage, both from weapons and spells increasing any damage taken from the other elements by roughly 50%.

Primal damage can be found in random weapons, or added by using Blacksmithing components obtained by salvaging weapons possessing the bonus.

Unlike bleeding, which increases melee damage against a target, primal damage applies a buff to the player for as long as a target is suffering from it thus increasing their damage against all targets with magic and not just the debuffed target.
