Sveri Brond is a thief who made a living by stealing from the dead. She was scouted by Helyc Crosse to scout ahead of the expedition to detect and disarm traps.
If you are traveling up the road from Gohart, you can find Sveri fighting boggarts. Once the boggarts are dead she will proceed to inform you about the expedition, and asks if you would like to join.
Helyc sends Sveri to scout ahead in the Southern Passage and she does a good job. Unfortunately for the master thief, Sveri accidentally steps on a switch. Before she knows it, a trap activates, sending blades flying and ending the poor Varani's lfe.
Rather than mourn her sad death, Helyc expresses frustration at Sveri, as he imagined her as being highly adept at navigating trap-riddled paths.
If the Fateless One is male, he will have the option about asking about her a second time, which she takes as being an unwanted attempt at flirtation.
