I think that it probably originated from the wiki community because it was the most accurate description at the time. I'm not quite sure what to do from here yet as in-game it is "Plant Snapper" as you have found and in the official game guide it is "Venus Fly Trap". The one that I was referring to was the Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Official Guide. It is the strategy guide which was published by Future Press.
