Bertrand Seznec [FIXED][]
Hi, I would like to report a bug that is only happening to me. So i'm trying to finish the Master of the Keep quest and i can't because Bertrand Seznec isn't in my keep. I sent Zefwyn Lan to the gnomish trireme and he never found Bertrand Seznec. If its possible i would like to know if i need to keep trying or is it bugged forever? Notes: Pc version.
[SOLUTION] Keep on trying...and never quit trying :)

- Thanks for letting us know, I've updated the page. I assumed they're rescued at first attempt cos that's what I had even if I reloaded, reshuffled list of wrecks, and tried again. I guess I was just lucky, or it's pre-determined at some earlier point in time. Gyumaou 18:21, April 2, 2012 (UTC)
- I'm having similar experience with Bertrand Seznec, my Master of The Keep quest was halted because he wasn't found yet. On the same in-game day, Zefwyn offered me to search on Gnomish Trireme. After resting for a few hours, the result was the same as couple of search on any Gnomish Trireme before Master of The Keep quest reaches Bertrand section, he didn't find Bertrand. Next day I ordered Zef to scout Almain Sojourner (no Gnomish choice), and he did find Bertrand there. Just wanted to share. So... If may I quote:
When sending Zefwyn to salvage a Gnomish Trireme there is a ?HIGH CHANCE? he will rescue Bertrand, a master-level alchemy trainer. Bertrand will then offer his services in the courtyard.
- Does the poster wrote 'high chance' by deducing from several playthroughs?
Bertrand may also be rescued from the Alfar Warship (didn't get him after 5 tries via Gnomish Trireme, but got him on the first try for Alfar Warship)
- Not Alfar Warship but Almain Sojourner for me, and true Gnomish Trireme doesn't work for me or my luck is really low... :(

Predetermined Outcomes?[]
The page states that there are three possible outcomes that are predetermined when sending Zefwyn; Rare Find, Regular find, and chased away. On one occasion however I sent him to an Arcane Carrack, Quicksaved before speaking to him then after talking to him and getting random junk, reloaded and got a Volcanic Glass Ring. Has this happened to anyone else? On another occassion I sent him to an Almain or Alfar ship (don't remember) quicksaved immediatly after sending him then rested for 12 hours and spoke to him again to find he had found Bertrand. I reloaded my quicksave, safe in the knowledge that I was now assured a Master-level alchemy trainer, and did random stuff till he came back again only to tell me that monsters chased him away from the loot. This is the ONLY time reloading has changed the the results of a trainer rescue, I even checked again later with another sojourner, 10 reloads and he always found Bertrand as long as the save I reloaded from was AFTER sending him. If either of these has happened to anyone else I would suggest that the "Predetermined outcomes Rule" is more of a suggestion and a note should be made. I am on a PC. Only thing I've seen is I can save before I talk to him, when he's returned, and the loot that he's already gotten has changed before. As to the trainer: Last playthrough, I didn't feel like sending him constantly as I did before, so I did not send him even one time, until I had all the Gravehall Keep Quests done and was in the 16 Lord of the Keep sub quests. The trainers just walked on in, without me sending him out. I presume this was so the game's way of making them available for the Lord of the keep's quests. However, when I talked the gnome builder, he would mention how Zefwyn had found this survivor or that. On xbox 360

Quest progress[]
And I found Bertrand Seznec and brought him back to the keep but be just stay in the garden and keeps digging 24/7 and when I sit on the throne the quest just tells me to check back later.
Rare Item Bug[]
On my playthrough, I got the Deckhand Boots. Once I did, Zefwyn sometimes comes back to me with a rare item. However, nothing is given to me. I have repeated this on several occasions. Which makes things incredibly frustrating since I'm trying to get the Leviathan's Shell since it wasn't on the corpse in the beginning of the DLC (I got the Boatcloak instead). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.97.81.233 (talk • contribs)
