Talk to Sergeant Bromm[]
Speak to Sergeant Bromm outside the Orbocant to discover that not only is Agarth no longer in Rathir, but that the Scholia Arcana has requested an audience with the Fateless One and Bromm has been sent as their escort. Once the conversation has ended follow Bromm to the Scholia Arcana.
Meet with the Scholia Arcana[]
- “High-ranking members of the Scholia Arcana have requested a private meeting with me concerning mysterious events in the west. I must meet them in the Main Hall of the Scholia Arcana Grounds in Rathir.”
Follow Sergeant Bromm to the Scholia Arcana. From there she will lead the Fateless One across the grounds to the Main Hall where Lord Ambyth is waiting. Speak to him to learn that the Tapestry of Fate has begun to unravel and that a potential new threat has appeared to the west in the land of Mithros: Telogrus, the God of Chaos.
Acquire a Border Permit[]
- “The Order of Fateweavers have asked me to catch up with Agarth in the western region of Mithros. Before I enter Mithros, I must obtain an official Border Permit from the Alfar Military, which has a station in the lower city of Rathir.”
Head to the Officer’s Hall in Rathir’s Lower City and speak to Private Garysh to acquire a Border Permit.
Cross the Border into Mithros[]
- “Agarth has disappeared into the icy cliffs of Mithros, and I must find him. First, I will need to cross the border from Dalentarth into Mithros via the security checkpoint.”
Travel to the border checkpoint located northwest of the village of Gorhart in Odarath. Speak to Private Sterling to gain passage to The Westroad.
Find the Resettlement Camp[]
- “According to the Order of Fateweavers, many of the settlers moving west to join this new “god” Telogrus, are living in a resettlement camp just beyond the border. I should find this came and investigate.”
Beware of ambushing Vagabonds, Boggarts, Sprites, and other Wild Fae as the Fateless One journeys northward on The Westroad. The resettlement camp of Revival is only a short distance away to the northeast upon entering the Mithros region on the southern side of the Mitharan Gate.
Speak to Drystan Rydder[]
- “The camp of Revival seems a pleasant place, despite its hardships. However, residents have instructed me to speak to the unofficial chief of security, a Warsworn Amaldor named Drystan Rydder. He should be able to give me the full story of what’s happening here.”
Head towards the massive Warsworn tent located in the heart of Revival and speak to Drystan Rydder.
Travel to the Freehold[]
- ”Rydder and his unit have repelled a troubling number of Niskaru attacks, more than would be considered normal. The Niskaru seemed to be appearing near the abandoned Ljosalfar complex of the Freehold. I will go with the Warsworn to investigate.”
Follow Drystan Rydder to the Freehold.
Defeat the Preordained[]
- ”We’ve been attacked by a group of Preordained cultists camping at the entrance to the Freehold. I wonder what they were doing outside of a dangerous Fae hollow so far up the mountain.”
Defeat the attacking Preordained cultists. Once they’ve been dealt with speak to Drystan.
Investigate the Campsite[]
- ”There is evidence of Chaos worshippers outside the Freehold. We should check what they left behind for clues about the attacks.”
Inside the Preordained camp, the Fateless One can investigate the treasure sack, bedrolls, and backpack to find a Mysterious Tract, Smuggler’s Notes, and a Skill Book.
Read the Chaos Text[]
- ”I found a crumbling text of Chaos Magic in the campsite outside the Freehold. I should check the book to find out if it contains any clues.”
Read the Skill Book to obtain the Chaos Sight skill.
Speak to Drystan Rydder[]
- “The book I read contains interesting details about a skill called ‘Chaos Sight’. I should let Drystan Rydder know about my discoveries.”
Speak to Drystan after obtaining the Chaos Sight skill.
Close the Chaos Rift[]
- “With my newfound Chaos Sight skill, I am able to “see” Chaos magic, including Rifts through which these Chaos beasts enter our world. I must defeat all the monsters and close the Rift before we are overrun.”
Defeat the Niskaru that have suddenly appeared, then approach the newly-visible Chaos Rift and close it. Once this has been accomplished speak to Drystan Rydder.
Investigate the Freehold and Close any Rifts[]
- “The Chaos Rifts are how the Niskaru have been breaching the barrier between their world and ours. We must scour the Freehold for more of these Rifts and close them. Of course, the Preordained and Niskaru won’t make this task very easy for us.”
Enter the Freehold with Drystan Rydder. Once inside the Fateless One and Drystan will encounter Kobolds, Preordained cultists, a Heavy Knight, and Niskaru as they search the structure. When they finally reach the deepest bowels of the Freehold they make a horrifying discovery: a sacrificial altar and a newly opened Chaos Rift. Defeat the Niskaru, close the rift, and then speak to Drystan to complete the quest.
Reward[]
- ”The Order of Fateweavers has tasked me to enter the region of Mithros and find Agarth, who is investigating a rise in Niskaru activity. It seems that Chaos cultists known as the Preordained have been summoning the Niskaru by offering sacrifices and further weakening the Tapestry of Fate.”
- 50,300 Gold
- Level-dependent XP
Notes[]
- Drystan Rydder will fight beside the Fateless One for the remainder of the quest after they agree to help the Warsworn mercenary investigate the Niskaru attacks on the settlers of Revival.
