Utility Gem

Utility Gem is a type of gem in Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. They have a variety of effects, both offensive and defensive. Both weapons and armor can have utility gems, making these the most versatile type. In fact, weapons and armor can have multiple utility gem slots, but rarely have more than one armor gem slot or weapon gem slot.

Utility gems can also be used during blacksmithing if your skill is high enough. They cannot be removed from the items if they are added this way, however. Removing gems from utility slots is as simple as taking the item to a sagecrafter, you will have to choose which item you would like to save as well as paying for the service. You can do this yourself at any Sagecraft Altar if your sagecrafting skill is high enough.
